Attorney Cheryl Lopez attended Eastern Michigan University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Political Science in 2007. Cheryl then attended law school at Wayne State University School of Law in Detroit, Michigan, where she was a member of the Student Board of Governors, a columnist for the Law Schools Student Newspaper, Dicta, and Chair of the State Bar of Michigan Student Section for Oral Advocacy, ultimately graduating with her Juris Doctor in 2014.

During the school year, Cheryl is an adjunct professor at Eastern Michigan University and enjoys sharing her real-world legal experience with her students in the classroom. She teaches up and coming Paralegal Students in the only ABA-accredited paralegal studies program in Michigan.

Before starting her own practice, Cheryl worked in the Legal Department for the United Auto Workers International at the historic Solidarity House in downtown Detroit. Therefore, Cheryl participated extensively in numerous employment law issues, expanding her already comprehensive knowledge in this area. She also helped curate numerous presentations regarding the legal parameters regarding employee rights and employer duties within the workforce.

After passing the Michigan Bar, Cheryl worked as a commercial contract attorney for construction companies, most recently working in collaboration with the Little Caesars Arena and the new Henry Ford Cancer Center.

Ms. Lopez also has significant experience in litigation as well as mediation. She is a certified civil and domestic mediator and volunteers time at the Wayne Mediation Center to “give back” to the community. Lopez & Associates also dedicates a good portion of their time to pro-bono cases throughout the Metro Detroit Area.

Cheryl enjoys spending time with her family and traveling in her free time.
